This privately operated reference site is not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or pull an official booking record. The responsible public office must handle those requests.
Choose the Right Record Office
For county jail custody and sheriff records, begin with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. Its Records Division is the local route for sheriff incident reports and focused requests for an existing booking record or photograph. Call ahead before visiting because office access can change.
Clinton County Sheriff’s Office
241 Seventh Avenue NorthClinton, Iowa 52732
Main and records line: 563-242-9211
Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., open through lunch except holidays
Match the question to the agency and record system:
- For current county custody, a booking record, or a sheriff incident report, use the Sheriff’s Records Division and official “Who’s in Jail” portal.
- For a Clinton Police arrest or daily information log, call Police Records at 563-243-1456. Published hours are weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; verify before visiting.
- For a same-day check, read the Daily Arrest Report. The Weekly Arrest Log explains wider date-range requests.
- For release or transfer alerts about one person, use the VINELink Inmate Check.
- For the outcome after booking, search Iowa Courts Online or ask the clerk where the case was filed.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use Iowa DOC. Federal BOP and ICE locators cover their own custody systems, not the Clinton County Jail.
